FAMILY RESOURCE CENTER

What is a Family Resource Center? Washington State defines Family Resource Centers as “place-based organizations that provide a single point of entry to a range of services for anyone in the community. FRCs provide information, assess needs, make referrals to family services, and provide direct delivery of family services by FRC staff or contracted providers.”

What services does this FRC Provide? First and foremost, we are a place where you can come to be connected with resources for your family. We can make referrals to community services, provide direct support, and be your advocate as a family. Our goal is to ensure that families have what they need to thrive - which often means connecting them to current resources in the community.

In addition, we provide direct service in the following:

  • Housing Supports

  • Clothing Supports

  • Food Supports

  • Transportation Supports

  • Legal Clinics

  • Parenting Education

  • Family Activities

What do Family Resource Center Programs cost? Our programs and services are offered free of charge to families. Any service that has a fee associated with it will always have a sliding scale and the option to participate at no cost.

What is considered a “family”? A family is any household/group of people that includes at least one person between the ages of 0-21. We primarily only serve those that fit this definition, though some of our programs are available for people outside this definition.

What is Parenting Education? Parenting Education is a way for parents/caregivers to learn and grow so they can show up in the best way possible for their young people.

What programs are offered? We have staff trained to facilitate Triple P parenting, the Nurturing Parent programs, Ready! for Kindergarten programs, and Positive Behavior Management. In 2024, we plan to offer monthly parenting education courses in a variety of formats and for many different age groups.

How much does it cost? Parenting Education is FREE and often comes with resources that you get to keep.

What is Playgroup? Playgroup is a great time for caregivers and young people (birth to 5) to play and learn together. We do activities, have snacks, and have space for little ones to move their bodies. This one-hour a week is a great time to support the development of positive relationships between littles and adults.

Who Should Attend Playgroup? Any and all little learners (ages birth to 5) with their trusted adult. This is open to the general public.

When and Where? We meet every Wednesday (with some exceptions) from 10:30-11:30 at Dylan Jude Harrell Community Center. There are many opportunities for Playgroups in our community if this time/day does not work for you though!

Dylan’s Closet is open by appointment for families who need access to clothing resources and youth in our programs. This free resources is open to anyone in the community who might need access to clothing. We have baby, youth, and adult sizes that range to cover most ages/styles/body sizes.

The Food Pantry is one of many food resources for families in Pacific County. We focus on helping bridge the gap in resources for families between SNAP payments, Food Bank open days, or other resources.

We are a market-style pantry where families can choose what they need most. The pantry is open by appointment.
